Yellow-billed/ Alpine Choughs in Austria July 2019
Alpine Choughs regularly visit the mountain top cafe for treats from visitors. Landing on my outstretched hand and finding no edible gifts, one bird bit and tugged at my flesh in protest. Am not sure what the health hazards are for them accepting offerings from the cafe, but they seem to be doing okay with approximately 60 individuals counted on the 22nd July, 2019. Two Bearded Vultures and a Wood warbler were also seen nearby on the 27th July, with an Icterine Warbler on the 23rd. A Spotted Nutcracker was noted on the 30th en route to Slovenia. Other notable sightings were Alpine Ring Ouzel and Willow Tit.
